B.C. CORPORATION

            The Dist. Backward Classes Service Cooperative Society Ltd., Nizamabad is functioning from 1975 with Regn.No.TJ 655 under chairmanship of Dist. Collector with the Directions of Board of Directors.

            The main aim of the Dist. Society is to uplift the down B.C. communities by providing financial assistance  to being them above the poverty line.

            At present the Dist. Society is providing financial assistance through the following schemes.

                        Dist. B.C. Population – 11,58,074.

1. MARGIN MONEY LOAN:-

            Under the scheme the District Society will provide 20% of the unit cost subject to maximum of Rs. 10,000/- as Margin Money Loan with low rate of interest i.e. 61/2 per annum. The remaining 80% loan is providing by the Banks.

2. SWARNIMA:-

            This is also a centrally sponsored scheme aimed at providing financial assistance to Women (DWACRA) Groups belonging to Backward Classes for taking up Self Employment Activities with a lowest rate of interest, i.e. 4% per annum. 40% of Unit Cost will be provided as Term Loan directly from B.C. Corporation, 50% of Unit Cost will provided by DRDA as subsidy while 10% is borne by the women (DWACRA) Groups as  contribution. The repayment period is (5) years.

            During the year 2004-05 an amount of Rs.20.60 lakhs have been provided to (Loan for Velugu) (107) Women Self Help Groups with the available funds.

  Beneficiary Contribution -    2,000/-

            Achievement could not be made during 2005-06  so far due non-receipt of funds.

3. EDUCATION LOAN SCHEME:-

            This is a centrally sponsored scheme. The aim of the scheme is to provide loans to students belonging to Backward Classes, who are persuing professional courses like Engineering, Medicine, MBA, MCA, etc. These loans are provided at a very low rate of interest i.e. 4% per annum.

4. CONSTRUCTION OF DHOBIGHATS:-

            Under the Scheme Government is providing infrastructural facility in the form of Construction of Dhobighat to the Washermen Community. Construction of (67) Dhobighats have been sanctioned in the District with an a Unit Cost Rs.1,00,000/- each Dhobighat. So far (21) Dhobighat is completed and (26) Dhobighat are under progress and the work not at started for the remaining Dhobighats.

  Food for Work (Rice)  - Rs.    30,000/-
  Subsidy - Rs.    60,000/-
