APURMSP

Works under APURMSP (WORLD BANK).

            Under this scheme (14) packages are sanctioned.  for Rs. 6.52 Crores. The tenders are called for and being opened on 20-07-2005. The tender document were submitted to the SE(PH) Hyderabad for approval. In these only two packages tenders are passed. And works also started. 

WATER SUPPLY

            Total requirement of water @ 90 LPCD is  5.80 MLD and present water supply at the rate of 38 LPCD is 2.27 MLD. The total supply is depended on bore wells. There are 57 power bores, 97 hand bores and 7 water tankers which are catering to the water supply needs. There are 3840 Nos. of house service connections and 590 Nos. of public Stand posts (PSP’s) out of which 199 Nos. are in slum areas.

            Entire Kamareddy Town is dependent on under ground water as there is no surface water source. There are 4 major source of supply. viz

1). Burra Mattadi sump.

            The sump is 10000 gallons capacity water is being supplied to Gadi water tank which is 1.50 Lakhs gallon capacity and also directly supplied through distribution lines in the Old Town the sump is being filled by drinking water from 12 power Bores out of there 4 Nos. are dried up.

2). Old Filter Beds.

            This sump is located at NH – 7 with the capacity of 12000 gallons. Water is drown from 13 Nos. of power bores to sump and directly pumping to ELSR 1.25 Lakhs gallons capacity and 0.55 Lakhs gallons capacity to ELSR at Degree College.

3). Sircilla Road sump.

            This is located at sircilla Road  and having 10000 gallons capacity water is being drown from 6” power Bore used the same water is being distributed from direct pumping and also filling of Mobile Tankers 16 Nos.

4). ELSR at Indira Nagar.

            This ELSR is Located near Ramareddy Road at Indira Nagar and having 0.55 gallons capacity water is being is drown from 3 Nos. 0f power Bores and the same is distributed to the Town by gravity.

            Every supply day at these above sources Liquid chlorine is being added before supply the water in to distribution Line   to maintain 2ppm at sources and  0.1ppm at tail end.

RESERVOIRS:

            The Reservoirs are filled at the same time distribution is made through direct pumping. Due to shortage of storage capacity. The reservoirs are cleaned every fortnight and chlorination is done by adding liquid chlorine

HOUSE SERVICE CONNECTIONS TO THE B.P.L. HOUSE HOLDS:

            The Govt. through G.O.Ms.No.303, Dtd.03.08.2004 has issued revision of water tap connection charges in the Corporation and Municipalities for house holds of slum area below poverty line who are having white ration card and who are eligible for water supply House Service Connection (HSC) at the rate of Rs.1200/- including road cutting charges etc.

            In Kamareddy urban are BPL survey was conducted. As per the said survey the details of BPL households are given below: -

            As per the Government decision to give water supply connection to the BPL families for Rs 1200/- large publicity was given in Kamareddy town inviting applications under this category. The particulars of applications received and connection given are as detailed below.

            Applications are receiving. After completion of receiving application the meeting is conduct wit the bank managers and other officers for scrutiny and selecting the beneficiaries.

            The Municipal commissioner is regularly inspecting, supervising the sanitation at 5.00 am. On every day and water supply from 7.00 am. to 1.00 pm.

Letting on to open drains, Community septic tanks  :--

            Yes few houses in slums are not having individual latrines they are being  using open drains. The same are proposed to construct latrines under ILCS.

            Construction of Roads are sanctioned under APURMSP (World Bank)

SANITATION

                Total garbage produced per day at the rate of 500 grams of refuse per captia is 34.75 M.Tons, out of which garbage lifted per day is 31.50. there are 6 Municipal Tractors, 2 Private Tractors and one lorry used for lifting the garbage, which is being dumped as land fill. There are 74 Nos. of permanent Public Health Workers and 95 Nos. are contract labors

INTEGRATED LOW COST SANITATION ( I L C S )

            The Government has fixed the target of 1523 Units + 100 units for school under stage III program, out of which 1323 have completed so for an amount of rupees 44.00 Lakhs has been released and an amount of 25.38 Lakhs are required for payment of completed units and also to completed their entire scheme.        

            The Superintending Engineer (PH) was addressed to issue the bulk sanctions to above taps but there is a already water scarcity in the town. Hence it is proposed to improve the supply position for according the bulk sanction.
