MINORITIES WELFARE DEPARTMENT

          The Minorities Welfare Department in Nizamabad district is looking after the following subjects as detailed below:

1.URDU GHAR CUM SHADIKHANAS:

          The Government has sanctioned (29) Urdu Ghar cum Shadikhanas with a total estimated cost of Rs.262.50 Lakhs, out of which (5) Shadikhanas could not be started for want of funds from the Government.

          Out of (11) Shadikhanas (4) Shadikhanas are functional and to complete (9) Shadikhanas an amount of Rs.25.00 Lakhs is required to be released.

N.B.:- The items of work required to be taken up as per Col No.5 were not covered in the estimate because the sanctioned amount was not sufficient.

2. CHURCHES:

          The Government has administratively sanctioned (10) churches for an estimated cost of Rs.11.30 Lakhs with cash component Rs.7.85 Lakhs and rice as Labour component Rs.3.45 Lakhs.  Out of which the Government has released cash Rs.4.40 Lakhs and rice released by the Collector  for Rs.3.45 Lakhs.

          Thus an amount of Rs.3.45 Lakhs is required to be released by the Government.

          Out of (10) churches sanctioned (7) churches are completed and (3) churches are under progress.

3. PRE & POST MATRIC SCHOLARSHIPS:

          The Government has earmarked a total of Rs.42.54 Lakhs for Pre & Post Matric Scholarships to Minorities students in Nizamabad district.  Out of 42.54 Lakhs the renewal of Scholarships for (2883) students for Rs.18.78 Lakhs is sanctioned and for fresh the requirement of funds for (4914) students for Rs.26.92 Lakhs is required
